Foundation by Bundela Rajput Dynasty

Raja Mahal is one of the oldest surviving structures in the Orchha Fort complex, located in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh.

It was commissioned in the early 16th century by Raja Rudra Pratap Singh, the founder of the Bundela Rajput dynasty of Orchha.

Rudra Pratap Singh shifted his capital from Garh Kundar to Orchha around 1501 CE and began construction of the palace soon after.
